I have a question...

Having captured over 200 weddings, I have an intuitive approach to shooting, always looking for those small intimate moments as well as all the big ones.

It's always about the human connection and I never underestimate how privileged I am to share & capture in the joy and love of such a special day.

Below are some of my most frequently asked questions, but feel free to reach out if you have any more

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: We hate getting our photo taken, what do we do?

I hear you, I see you and honestly, I am you. So many of my couples are camera shy, and that's okay!

I consider the most important part of my job is to make each and every one of my clients not to just feel comfortable in front of the camera, but to also have fun whilst their doing it. We're to celebrate the love between you and your partner and enjoy the party you've spent a while planning.

I give you space to capture moments as they happen naturally and get you to focus on each other,  giving you full permission to completely ignore me.

I'll run around and give you direction when needed to make sure you look your absolute best.

Many of my couples have said by the end of the night, I don't feel like a photographer, but a friend instead.

Q: How do we book you and what happens next?

Head to this page and fill out your details, or email me at hello@lovedayweddingphotos.com

I'll respond to you within 24 hours to confirm my availability and answer any questions you have.

To lock your date in, a signed contract and $1,000 booking fee are required.

From there, the remainder of your balance isn't due till 3 weeks before the big day. You can choose to pay in instalments or as a one off!

Q: How many + when do we receive our photos?

After your wedding, you'll receive a sneak peek gallery within 24hrs, so you have some beautiful shots to share with friends + family.

5-7 weeks after your wedding, you will receive a private link to your full gallery.

The number of images depends on your package- about 75 images per hour booked!

I'll also send you a link after you received your full gallery where you can select your complimentary prints from!

Q: Do you travel?

Sure do.

I love to travel Australia-wide (and internationally) for my couples.

All wedding packages have complimentary 1.5 hour travel each way from Sydney, as well as to the Gold Coast + Canberra. Further travel is quoted by the hour.

As a person with 3 passports, I am regularly overseas so if you’re considering a destination wedding or are based outside of Australia, reach out and we can chat about details.

International weddings are quoted on an individual basis.

Q: Do you photograph same-sex weddings?

A giant rainbow shaped yes! Love is love and I love capturing it all.

The world always needs more inclusivity so I always aim to use gender neutral language across all aspects of my business as well.

Q: Do you offer albums?

Yes, absolutely.

I believe in the importance of holding a memory in your hand transcends seeing it on a screen. It brings your day to life in a whole different way.

Wedding albums are a beautiful keepsake and the best way to savour all the incredible moments from your wedding day, beautifully designed and made to last for a lifetime.

You can see my album packages here.

I also include complimentary prints in all of my packages because it's so important to me that my couples have physical prints.

Q: Do you do videography?

I don't personally, but I offer a package add on with an amazing videographer and love to work alongside them to capture your wedding day in the best way.

Reach out here and ask about our videographer add on.

Q: What time should we do our wedding portraits?

Light is one of the most important things to consider for your wedding portraits.

Some of the most magical light is during golden hour, which is the hour that leads into sunset.

Now sunset times actually vary every single day, depending on location as well as the season so one of the best things you can do is google the sunset time on your wedding day!

A first look in the morning is also an incredible time to do portraits, and lends itself to so many beautiful intimate moments before the day kicks into high gear.

Ideally, I advise couples to try and avoid scheduling portraits between 11am - 2pm when the sun is at its highest + harshest but that doesn't mean we can't create beautiful images during that time!

If you'd like assistance with timing and run sheet organisation, send me a message here.

Q: How many hours should we book you for?

My packages start at 3hrs for elopements and 6hrs for weddings and go all the way up to 10 hours.

How your wedding day runs is up to you.

A suggested wedding day timing can be:

+ Groom prep— 45 mins - 1.25hrs

+ Bride prep— 1 - 1.5 hours

+ Pre-ceremony— 15–20 mins

+ Ceremony— 30 min - 1hr

+ Congrats & family photos— 30 mins

+ Portraits— 1 - 1.5 hours

+ Reception details— 30 mins

+ Reception— 2+ hrs

For the reception, coverage is completely up to what is important to you and your partner, whether it be just capturing speeches through to first dance and a grand exit.

As a guide, plan to commence your ceremony 2.5 hours prior to your reception start time (excluding travel).

Q: I want film photos too! Do you only shoot digital?

I do both!

I absolutely adore shooting on film- nothing beats the magic of film with its grain, it's memory-like quality and its beautiful imperfections.

I am one of the few photographers who offers not just 35mm film, but also 120 film which is a larger negative that offers an incredible amount of depth + detail.

That being said, film does require a little more time to work with so we'll need a bit of extra time during portraits.

I will gladly talk your ear off about film so if you're interested in adding on film to your package, please let me know!
